You can easily turn an old wooden crate into a beautiful planting crate with the permanent spray, which protects the environment and you have fresh herbs every day.

If you want to grow your own plants, you don't need your own garden. You can also grow your own flowering plants, vegetables or herbs on your balcony or roof terrace: "Urban Gardening" is the concept. All you need is a planter box, edding acrylic spray paint and permanent markers, and our instructions in which we explain each step. If you use an old discarded crate, you're doing something good for the environment at the same time. The spray paint has a very high opacity, a short drying time and is perfect for creating all kinds of objects, whether they are used outdoors or indoors.

1. Here you can see everything you need. For spraying, you need edding 5200 permanent spray in a spray colour of your choice, in our example white, neon green, light grey and mild mint. You'll also need edding 400 and 3000 permanent markers in black.

2. First clean the wooden box and remove any unevenness with the sandpaper.

3. Cover the work surface well with foil or paper before spraying. In our Spray 1x1 we give important tips on perfect spraying. We recommend spraying at a distance of approx. 25 cm in a criss-cross pattern, as this is the best way to dose the spray jet. First spray on the white paint. Then allow the surface to dry thoroughly.

4. After drying, cover the part of the box that should remain white with masking film. Now it's time for the Mild Mint spray. Allow to dry.

5. A narrow stripe in neon green separates the mint-coloured area from the white area and provides a nice contrast. For this, also mask off the mint-coloured area except for a narrow strip, which you then spray in neon green. Allow everything to dry thoroughly.

6. Finally, you can label the planter box with a permanent marker, just as you like. By masking off individual coloured areas, you can always create new designs. This picture shows the design with triangles in different colours (e.g. in mild mint and light grey).

7. What grows here? So that you don't get confused later about which herb is which, you can make plant signs out of pieces of wood and write on them with the edding 400 permanent marker. The fine tip ensures good legibility.

8. If you wish, you can also spray paint the metal feet to match the colour.
