Instructions No. 3323
Difficulty: Beginner
Working time: 1 hour
1. Transfer and Cut Out Templates
First, download the template and cut it out. Then transfer the outer contours onto the paper that will form the basis for each backpack.
Once you have drawn enough backpacks, cut out the gray areas of the template, transfer them onto the patterned cardstock, and cut out the flaps as well.
Next, glue the flaps onto the paper. Make sure the distances on the sides are approximately the same. Using double-sided tape is the best way to ensure they stick. If you use craft glue, it's a good idea to place something heavy on top to prevent the paper from warping as it dries.
2. Assemble the Backpack
Fold the paper along the edges according to the template. The sides (without adhesive strips) and the bottom should all have the same width, in this case, 2 cm.
Attach a strip of double-sided tape to the adhesive strips, remove the protective film, and assemble the backpack step by step.
Hold the backpack in both hands and carefully shape the lid with your hands. Adjust the paper depending on how high or low the backpack closes. Fold the invitation so that it fits into the backpack and close it with a strip of double-sided tape.
3. Attach Individual Parts
Cut out two strips from the base paper, about 1.5 cm wide and 8 cm long, and one strip about 1 cm wide and 10 cm long. Glue the narrow strip to the top of the backpack using some craft glue at both ends. Before the glue dries, you can adjust the handle.
For the shoulder straps, use the wide strips, bend each end slightly, and attach them to the back of the backpack. Once they are secure, carefully shape or press them into position.
Additionally, attach two matching wooden buttons to the front as a clasp.
The basic form of the backpacks is now complete. However, you can further decorate them to your liking with scatter parts, pendants, name tags, etc.
