Casting design is easy to implement and can be used for endless creative design ideas. Therefore this hobby is currently more popular than almost any other.

Basic instructions

We have put together a basic guide for you here, with everything you need to know on the subject, explained step-by-step, with colour mixing help and with great inspiration and ideas for your own projects.

Casting compound

A fine white casting compound is used for the casting design: Raysin or Keraflott ceramic powders are mixed with water to a liquid mass according to the product instructions. The cast moulds dry in the air to form robust hard shapes with a great fine white surface, comparable to ceramics.

Relief casting moulds

Not only conventional specially designed for relief casting Casting moulds are suitable for filling. All Acrylic forms can also be used for the creative ideas. Surely many other forms are also suitable, here it means: simply test!

Please note: Casting compounds with ceramic optics are poured into non-greased moulds. The cast objects would get colour deviations / stains due to grease or oil. Our tip: order Protective varnish and seal the finished project with it!

Mixing the paint

The white fine casting compounds can be coloured excellently. There are two possibilities of colouring

Colour pigments in powder form are worked into the masses according to the product instructions and result in a pastel-coloured appearance.

With liquid Colour Concentrate more intensive colour shades can also be created. Depending on the quantity of drops added to the mass, different colour nuances are obtained. The following colours result when the indicated number of drops Colour Concentrate is added to 100 g casting compound ( mix casting compound and colour well)

Marbling

Creative casting compounds for the ceramic look (Keraflott or Raysin) can even be marbled with the help of Colour Concentrate The intensive colour is added to the liquid casting compound as usual, but then only is stirred very roughly. This creates a typical marbled look.
